Story is set in the 1920s in New Orleans. A group of friends play in a Jazz band called “The Baron”. The band is a smooth front for their gentlemen bootlegging gang. The young men soon meet Sister Midnight, a Voodoo Priestess who introduces them to Gods. The group become the Champions of these gods and gain a female companion/love interest who can shape shift into the chosen god’s signature animal and act as the character’s “sponsor/guardian”
